dynataz is live
| August 5th, 2008So im putting up the first version on dynataz ( dynamips on live cd) up for download and testing, the size is a lean, mean 29.3 mb, only possible due to the amazing developers of Slitaz , a few differences here, you have to manually mount your ntfs partition. which is quite easy actually , once the live cd starts just click on the spider–> system tools –> mount devices , you can do a list to check which is your windows partition and type in that device and select /media/windows as the mount point and just click on ntfsmount.
The username and password is root, Rest all remains the same, dynamips and dynagen are both ready and actually installed in the /opt folder also a images and working directory has been created there. so for your working directory use the option /opt/wkgdir . thats it. download the new iso ———> here
I have been following your work. So please accept my real appreciation and a humble bow for all your good work. As usual I am a Linux noob. However I want to use this build of yours as VMWARE so that I can use my machine for all the work and also use dyangen for play. Can you by any chance make it a VM Image with VMWARE tools installed so that it is easy to drag and drop files into this. This might sound contrary to your idea of making it smaller and portable but yes I love that part but I want it to be a VMWARE machine if possible for you.
I want to use Internetwork Expert labs eventually on this.
Thanks for reading all this.

hey that is a really good idea, i never thought of it before, just that i have never used vmware before, only virtual box, youll have to give me some time, say a week or so and i think i should be able to do it and you are encouraged to send reminders., hehe .
Actually After sending this post I found out that there is a VM image on the VMWARE site for this one. The one in english is under the filename slitaz-1.0-en-vmware.7z. This is free to download or if you give me a place I can upload it for you. I suppose this will take you a step furrther.
Thanks

on the next page they will ask you to give your name etc but there is an option to skip all that also. So click on that and just down it. You can use the free VMWARE player to check it out.

i havent checked upon the usb version yet, but on the slitaz mailing list this message had just come a few days back . if you could try out with this and give feedback it would be great. i wont be touching usb atleast till the end of this month. below is the message
Here’s a preliminary version of a SliTaz installer for Windows (based on
UNetbootin) for anyone that’s interested; I believe it would be useful
to have on either the downloads page or in the handbook or documentation
as an easy way for Windows users to try out SliTaz without needing to
burn a CD.
